Hillel 818 Opportunities

  • JLF 1.0: Life's Big Questions

The Jewish Learning Fellowship (aka "JLF") is a 10-week experiential conversational seminar that aims to answer Life's Big Questions through the lens of pluralistic Judaism. You know, the big stuff -- like Who Am I? What communities am I a part of? What is worth committing myself to? Am I a "bad Jew" if my favorite hangover food is a bacon, egg & cheese sandwich? You know, the important stuff. Plus, get weekly meals and a $300 stipend upon completing the course!

  • JLF 2.0: Sex, Love, & Romance

Ever wondered how Judaism feels about hookup culture? Maybe love at first sight? How about healthy relationships? All of these questions and more will be up for discussion in JLF 2.0 Sex, Love, and Romance! Join Max and Meg to discuss everything Jewish about sex, love, and romance. There are no right answers and tons of questions! You will not only learn all about Jewish views on sex, but also about your self along the way. Our hope is that you will learn how you answer some of the many questions and become more comfortable with those answers. And bonus! You will earn a $300 stipend for completing the course! You must have completed JLF 1.0 to participate.

  • Kol Yisrael: Ethnic Diversity

Curious about the rich diversity within Israeli society? Join us for Kol Yisrael, a 6-week cohort exploring the stories, challenges, different perspectives, and views of six ethnically diverse communities in Israel. Together, we’ll uncover how these groups navigate their unique identities while shaping and being shaped by Israel’s national story. Let’s explore questions of belonging, inclusion, and resilience. Participants will receive a $150 stipend upon completion of the course and the opportunity to deepen their connection to Jewish peoplehood.
